The rigid car policy that Kylian Mbappé is required to adhere to at Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappé is required to adhere to a strict car-related rule at Real Madrid after his high-profile transfer this summer.

Mbappé joined Real Madrid this summer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ended. He was introduced to the Santiago Bernabéu crowd in a grand ceremony reminiscent of Cristiano Ronaldo’s unveiling.

Although he moved to the Spanish club on a free transfer, he will receive a signing bonus of over £85 million, paid in installments throughout his contract. Additionally, he has received a BMW, following BMW’s appointment as the club’s official car supplier in 2022, replacing Audi, who now partner with Bayern Munich.

Under this sponsorship, Real Madrid and BMW will collaborate on initiatives related to future mobility, sustainability, and diversity. As part of the deal, players and coaches from the men’s and women’s football teams, as well as the basketball team, will be given BMW cars. They can choose from a range of 100% electric models in the BMW lineup.

These eco-friendly vehicles are classified as ‘0 emissions,’ allowing the team to travel in full electric mode. Every member of the men’s first-team squad and manager Carlo Ancelotti have received their electric vehicles to promote more environmentally friendly commutes to training.

Mbappé has chosen the BMW i7 M70, a model that Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez also drives. Real Madrid’s sponsorship deal with BMW mirrors Bayern Munich’s long-term partnership with Audi, which is now a rule that Harry Kane, Bellingham’s England teammate, must follow at the Bundesliga club.

Manuel Terroba, Executive President of BMW Spain and Portugal, stated: “Real Madrid not only represents the world’s leading sports institution but is also an organization in constant evolution, dedicated to excellence in its activities based on demand, talent, quality, and leadership. The club’s strong commitment to sustainability, solidarity, diversity, and a winning spirit makes it the ideal partner to tackle both current and future challenges.”
